Running has been one of my greatest joys since childhood, but a string of injuries in adolescence pushed me over to the dark side of swimming. After a strong career as an All-American high school swimmer I decided to hang up the speedo for cleats and eventually led the University of Texas club ultimate frisbee team to a third place finish at the college national championships. Then I started medical school...and did basically nothing for a decade. But in 2019, after some health issues and the birth of my second daughter, I decided to prioritize my health and well-being and signed up for a half marathon. Things escalated quickly. I ran my first marathon in 2021 and have subsequently run 6 marathons including Boston and Chicago. I'm as excited as ever about this sport and my personal running journey, and I know my best days are still ahead.

By day, I am a full-time Pediatric Oncologist at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX, specializing in care for children with sarcomas and the use of immune therapies for children with advanced cancers. I have an amazing wife (also a physician) and two vibrant and strong-willed daughters. I am an avid Texas Longhorn and Houston Astros fan and will happily bang trashcans to support my teams.

I love running and I love helping others unlock their potential and hit their goals. I found myself hungry to learn as much as I could about endurance physiology and training, and as my personal running experience grew I was eager to share this with friends and family. After spending some time informally helping others with training and racing, I decided to make it official and got my RRCA Level 1 coaching certification. Coaching energizes me and I get as much or more from it as those who choose to work with me.
